Fishing 6pm-10pm. 12 Turned out in what looked like pretty naff conditions to catch much and we were right. After seeing the anglers from other club matches on Roker pier fishing into the bay to try and pick up a flatty the majority headed off to river marks. Ray Edmonds and Ian Ainsley chose to fish the river where Ian showed how to delicately scale down some rocks to get a rig back at the waters edge. Using all his rounded well balanced arse he managed a triple salco into the rocks followed by the 'Team America' international recognised distress signal. Fortunately Ian landed on his head so damage occurred and it paid off for them catching coalies. I managed to get myself all excited on the end of Roker Pier when I picked up my rod and found the end tackle very light and started reeling in fast declaring a belter of a slackliner. It was that slack that the whole friggin trace had managed to get itself off my link much to the amusement of a little fat Jarrow lad (I own up to this cos' he will only post it anyway). Well that's the tales over cos' the fishing was nowt to write home about....oh and by the way Ian said I had to say how good he is cos' he won so everyone congratulate him on his 2 fish. Well done Ian and Steve on heaviest fish.
