  • Northumbria Police SAC - Sunderland 161207

13 Turned out for our last match of our season fished at Sunderland 2up and 2down. Freeeeeeeeezing conditions with the majority fishing marks along the river producing mainly whiting, flounder and the odd codling. A couple of fools ventured on to the pier (yes it was even colder). 6 Returned with score cards.

    1st. Ray Edmonds 70 points (4). also H/F (40cm cod)
    2nd. Peter Morgan 53 points (4).
    3rd. Steve Walker 45 points (3).
    4th. Charlie Bath 25 points (4).
    5th. Steve Foster 24 points (2).
    6th. Ray Archbold 23 points (2).

Ray Edmonds also won the biggest fish of the season pool with a 78cm cod from Blyth on 251107.
Matty Thompson came second with a 51cm cod from Blyth on 160207.

Well done to both who take a 70/30 split.

Considering some of the lads work shifts and cannot get the time off for all the comp's its been a good year for turnouts as we averaged 12 per comp'. We even get the odd guest (i.e. Blackrat) who tell us how to go on, unfortunately he blanked this week. DOH.....Sorry Ian couldnt resist.

YUP, We took Peter to a hot spot. We got nowt and headed back to the car to go on the pier. Just got to the car when Peter rang to say he just caught !!!!!!!!...bugger. I dont know what Flathead is using for bait this year but it seems to be working (I heard he keeps his worms in his underpants and it must be true cos' I saw a seagull swoop down when he had a pee).
