Northumbria police SAC - Newbiggin 19th Jan 2014

11 Anglers turned out in strong winds and rainy conditions. Boundaries between Amble pier and Cambois pier not including he piers themselves. The sea was white including inside Newbiggin Bay making it hard work. There looked like a Newbiggin Club match was on at the same time and the Private Beach was a popular area for anglers.

Well done to Barry Smith who managed to winkle out a codling gaining him 59 points as the SAMF chart. This was the only fish of the day and came from the Private Beach.

Well done Barry mate, one day I'll catch a cod when I'm stood on the same mark next to you for 4hrs in the crap weather! Good luck to all fishing South Shields on Sunday, I'll be missing this one as going to London, just remember to aviod disappointment stop within the boundaries! !! See you's at the regionals.

Well done lads in hard conditions. Gave it a miss as my mate Ian J could not make it. Kind of glad I did when I saw the weather. Will be down for next match at South Shields.

I was down with the dog when you lads were coming off, very surprised that there was only one fish between the lot of you, the sea looked good for fish. Weather wise it was crap mind.

Dead right, the weather was bad, the fishing was poor despite what looked like good conditions for the Private Beach. There was only mad fishermen and dog walkers out.

Aye, nice to meet and say hello to lads who are out, my winter fishing is all but finished now, i prefer a pair of shorts, rucksack and spinning gear now, summer and warmth for me these days.
