Cheers Bill - tried again the following night and had a nightmare! Got no gear back at all for the first 2 hours & could only manage a single scotchie…..lost more gear than I have in a long time (in fact only had 2 sinkers left when I packed in). Previous night I only got hung up once with a fish (which I got out ok) and lost 1 set. Funny how no 2 nights are ever the same

funny gary I have been losing a lot of gear on my favourite heavy marks, last time I was on sharpness il lost 8 sets and brought in 3 braid shock leaders with leads and hook attached as soon as I pulled for break snapped off wonder if braid has any thing to do with it cutting my line. davy.

I don't know Davy, never pulled in lost braid before (plenty of mono though!) - the 4 pounder I had that night (well, 3-15.5 er) had a snapped off hook in it's scissors - bet someone thought they lost a good fish, and I had one on Blyth a couple of weeks back That took both my baits plus it had a snapped off hooklength with a razor bait as well - three baits side by side in it's mouth!

I think Chris jinxed me monday night as before the comp he told me he'd lost loads of gear at Rocky on saturday night - I'd fished sunday with only the one fast-had but monday night, same spot & nearly identical conditions it was horrendous! Personally I don't fancy braid off shore at all, I've even gone back to preferring mono for some of the scratchy-type flattie matches.
