11 retired members fished off Tynemouth pier today in glorius sunshine from 10am until 3pm. Of these 8 managed to catch fish, mainly whittings. There were no cod caught. Interestingly there was a shoal of porpoises swimming within casting distance of the pier end. These numbered between 10 and twenty.

1st Tony Taylor 15 whit, 1 coaly, 1 flounder 13 lb exactly
2nd Dave Hayley 9 whit, 1 coaly 7 lb 10 ozs
3rd Bob Blackhall 8 whit, 1 flounder 6 lb 4 ozs

H/F Flounder 1 lb 4 ozs Tony Taylor
