A nice find Andy; can't add to the names I'm afraid...Shaun, I think that's a couple of years before my time - I'm guessing that's mid 70's as I do recognise one or two of the junior faces from old photos from the trips they used to do up to the Rhu & Loch Long; however, they'd all left by the time I joined around '77/78.

Forgot to add, it was at the Aletsa Ballroom in whitley bay about 1976, think i won the summer and winter overall, the heaviest fish and possibly the loch long trophy??

Was Arthur Smeaton a member of the Shiremoor club as well ? I was a member in the late 70s early 80s (junior). Alec Harvey used to take us bait collecting then fishing somewhere, in his Ford Capri,.......

Yes he was. I was in Shiremoor club in that period too. I have a similar photo from a Shiremoor presention from the late 70's with Arthur on it.

I'm guessing your surname is Armstrong? Son of Ralph? He used to be my boss!
