  • flattie night at alnmouth 12.9.06

myself, tompa his kids, steveb and tony from alnwick met up just down from alnmouth bridge last night for a session catching flatties the weather was great, nice and warm with the sun in our faces. the tide was comming up and conditions just right to catch to hammer them flatties or so it should have been. i got there and met tony from alnwick first (nice to put face to name) but when i went to get my rod out i noticed i had brought my small river spinning rod, not very good against a rising tide but i was there so it had to do. whilst baiting up steve turned up, again nice to meet you steve then shortly afterwards tony(tompa) and his three little ones arrived and once again i put name to face and nice to meet you. the first to catch was tony with a nice smallish flattie, things were lokking good. tony from alnwick had a crab then i had one as well, the river is plagued with them, next one to catch crabs was steve. sorry mate had to get that one in . shortly afterwards tony from alnwick had a small flattie, after that and a few little bites and a few crab that was it. the tide turned and my rod was just to light to take the outgoing tide. a good night was had by all and the banter was good, will have to do it again sometime maybe a diffarent mark. by the way i did not catch any fish just crabs again
. baits used were macky, crab, black lug and rag.
