i want to change the gearing on my Mag Elite (the Green one) - Can someone explain how to change the Brass gear pinion with a stainless steel one that i have bought of ebay - i can see there is a cir clip holding it in place ,BUT how can you remove it without it sliding into the gear mechanism ???

and are the gearing pinions the same as penn mag 525 ??? - saying as i bought two ,wouldnt mind have a stainless steel one in my penn

    Cheers

Aye thats them Ell - but cant figure out a safe way of taking out the brass one to replace with steel one - i reckon i will lose the clip that holds it in - but there might be an easier way if the side plate comes apart without the gears springing out all over the place - Keegy would know but i have lost his mobile number ,so i will just have to wait and see if he still looks in on the board - cheers for the link
