has anyone tried these gulp peeler crabs or worms yet ?
we live so far from any bait supplier that i`m considering trying some,
but any info and advice would be very welcome,
many thanks Finn;
i tried the lug, rag and crab gulp last year, no joy not even a crab, they do have a strong scent though but it disapears afer a few casts but replacing it back in the sealed bag renews the scent. as insano says i would not bother with it.
the only place i think it might fish is off a boat as a lure but you would have to ask the boat lads about that.
the gulp rag works very well for bass and pollock fished under a float, i think its the movement of them moving in the tide beneath the float rather than the scent that atracts the fish. a couple of mates have had superb results for bass on them, seemed to outfish fresh rag !!!!!
i have never been a artificial bait fan but results speak for themselves. i have seen various gulp bais fished more conventionaly on the pier but they fished nowhere near as good as fresh bait although i have seen fish caught on them.
Useful I suppose for those times that you cannot obtain fresh baits, or to leave in the back of the car with a rod for when you get an unexpected half hour by the sea (for those of us that live inland)
Found the post. It was off Slea Head wrasse to 4lb and Pollock to 5lb. Lovely place Slea Head but some naughty swells to watch for, can scare that s**t out of you.
