  • Dogfish In Pain

forgot to mention when i was in scotland last week, one of the doggy\'s brought in seemed to be in terrible pain.

Got it up on the surface then i noticed something was wrong with it....
    its head was hanging off!!!

when i got it up onto the rock i noticed it had a metal ring around it !

it had obvously been there a while as it was quite rusty and had sea creatures growing off it.

as the dogfish is growing it is cutting away into it!

i managed after a while to get it off the fish, wether or not the fish will survive i didnt no, coz it seemed to be holding it together,...but it had to come off if it was to stand a chance, it seemed to swim off in peace.

I remember a post about the packaging on cans placed around a fish or a fish swimming into it. I dont no what has happened in this case but it wasnt nice at all!

    Poor thing
Its head was hanging off? Id have killed it. Kindest thing I think?
If this makes one person think twice about discarding \"bad rubbish\" dangerous metal rings or those plastic things of 4 packs of cans etc...
You done well m8. I know of horror stories about our harmless rubbish harming wild life.
Best one being all the plastic bags in the sea which I admit one or two have blown away from me in my time.
Turtles eat them mistaking them for their prey \"jellyfish\" and it kills them.

Well done Jonny, I delivered an egg sack from a dogfish and put the sack back in the sea once ^_^
