Low water is not untill 1948 tomorrow night mate so Whitley pipe is out for during the day. If you are after Mackerel you could try Blyth pier. Shields pier has been throwing up Mackerel more consistently and Davey Adair got a couple of Pollack from the blocks and lost a goodun.

High tide for the Tyne tomorrow is 13:16 mate. If you are fishing for Mackerel you shouldn\'t lose any gear. Try fishing with spinners just past the Blocks. If you fancy a go for Plaice try fishing the Rail End which is a sandy bottom.

If you lads decide to try Shields Pier, here are some other sections of the pier you might wanna try.........
Fishing the harbour side anywhere between the Brigade Hut and the gate is a doddle - sandy bottom - no snags.
Between the 1st gate and the Rubble is also pretty clean - closer you get to The Rubble, more chance of snagging.
Rail End (as Jim says), clean sandy bottom (watch out as the tide drops though, as there are quite a few rocks at the bottom of the pier wall to get snagged on).
The Post (fishing the harbour side) a good shot - BUT can be very snaggy at times (as can fishing the seaward side from here).
The \"44\" very popular shot on Shields pier with a clean, sandy bottom. Can sometimes prove problematic because of lobster pots.
The Blocks - another popular shot (see the link Willywetegg put up in the \"South Shields Pier\" topic to Daveys\' catch report.
The \"small wall\" - Seems to be THE place the macky bashers tend to go for.

Yes mate I know how you feel. My son still has my old drive and has recovered a couple of pictures up to now. He told Yvonne they were fishing ones so will be interested to see what they are and if he can find any more. I really hope so as there were a load.
Meant to say I have just saved that one in my favs lol.
Jim.
