  • amazing sight on s.shiels pier

got to the end of the pier about 5-45am this morning about half an hour after we arrived a group of at least 20 porpoise came past the pier end jumping right out of the water, i have seen this before but never as close in as these today they were only about 20 yards from the end of the pier it took them a good 10 minutes to pass by. there was probably quite a few more than 20 as they were quite hard to count accurately, well worth getting out of bed early to see this.

loads of eels on monday (139 but around 30 of those were given) + 3 macky.

yesterday between 2 of us we had around 70 eels and a dozen macky.

this morning got around 50 eels and stacks of macky, the macky were really thick and fast 3 and 4 at a time on feathers.

nice to know they have returned , we havent seen the porpoise at the Blyth end for a couple of years, I used to see them all the time, just a wee family of them nothing in that scale
May the holes in your net be no larger than the fish in it.
