  • Galloway campsite................

Could anyone point me in the right direction for a campsite over on the West Coast? The area Im looking at would prefrably be on the Mull of Galloway. Now the tricky bit.... It needs to be within walking distance of the area to be fished from (until now, any place that will show fish!), bearing in mind its a blokes and bairns fishing trip. A clubhouse on site would be an added bonus or a watering hole not too far away would suffice. As the childrens ages range from 6 to 14, some sort of amusements would be a bonus as well.
We have had these long weekends away before with great success as there are no women to nag us about them falling in or coming off worse when they`ve gone to kill bears in the woods with sticks. Unfortunatley these past trips didnt have any sea fishing involved and would like to see if this would be a viable proposition, afterall nothing ventured, nothing gained. Hoping there is just a site?....Gordon.
If its not broke, fix it until it is!

shame about the walking distance as i would recommend the sand head caravan park but its a short drive away from the mull and the marks.

there are 3 camping sites at port patrick which are all within easy walking distance of some of the best pollock/wrasse fishing spots over there right next to dunsky castle (not sure of the spelling) which would be ideal. im sure one of the members on the site from over that end will be able to give you contact details.

    good luck

Clashwhannon caravan park in Drummore is a possibility. Pub on the site which does food and has pool/darts. Kiddies play park in the village 5 mins walk away. Fishing within walking distance you are talking bass and mullet right in front of the park. They only have a small campsite so book in advance. Phone Martin or Loise on 01776840632. Giz a pm if you want more info. Best hurry though as I have a static van on that site and am going over this Friday for 10 days
