just been reading about the fishing at hilston yorkshire in sea angler mag seems pretty good has anyone fished down that way ,ray , bass, codling, whiting, flats, looks like the cloured water which happens when mud from cliffs comes down to sea colours the water apparently codling all year round in right conditions, could be an interesting outing and not too far to travel

hi mate
i spoke to karl nangle on the phone whilst he was actually doing that feature with george, that session was in may which is a month where anything can turn up, cod, bass, thornys, doggies, smoothounds and pouting.
the water is usually coloured all year round inshore but when we get weeks on end of high pressure and hot sun (like we have had just lately) it knocks the colour out the water and the fishing dies (which it has now)
the holderness coast has fished its proverbials off this spring/early
i have beaten 3 PB\'s since march with thornys to 8lb and smashed my PB bass twice in 3 weeks with a 4lb 10oz and a 8lb 6oz beast but the last week - 10 days has been almost dead as the colour has gone out the water.
we need a bit of a stir up to get things moving again i think
yea we get cod all year round but more at the southern marks around easington and holmpton (last year in july we had about a dozen cod to 5lb along with smoothounds just short of 10lb and thornys to 7lb in the same sessions)
the fishing can be great if u hit it right, but can seam to be the most void of fish place at other times...lol
