  • Druridge Bay

Got chance to go up there this weekend but never fished it before, any spots worth fishing during the daylight? high tide being around midday.
    Cheers.

I find that Druridge usually fishes best from low water and for about the first 3-4 hours after. It`s not really a high tide venue. It`s best to get there just before low water and walk along the beach looking for sandbars and gulleys, these are the spots to try as the fish will usually swim up the gulleys first looking for food. The usual targets here are flounders and the occasional turbot, you might also get the odd bass and plaice. You can also catch weevers here although it might be a bit early for them, but just be aware and be careful when handling them. Best baits are lug or rag tip with mackerel, if you don`t have mackerel try squid strips. The turbot rarely touch a bait that hasn`t got a fish strip on it. Slivers of mackerel on a size 2 or 4 Aberdeen work well on their own as well.
Hope you have some luck and get a couple out. Tight lines.

Agree with everything Bassman said. Look for holes around low water as the fish tend to congregate in them and spread out along the beach as the tide floods.
