Well after our dreadful lack of fish in the NE a couple of weeks ago we are now concentrating on our Summer adventures and have decided to try to target some Pollack as a wee change from just Mackerel this year. There are not a lot of options on the Clyde, but a kind gent gave me a couple of marks that may produce, so will be giving them a try over the next six or so weekends, before the Mackerel fest draws us back in.
We now have rods suitable for the shore and also some lures/plastics that we bought off NESA and are ready to roll. We had intended to get out this weekend, but our Youth Theatre commitments won't allow!
Usually at this time of year we rehearse a play and take things a bit easier, as the young people have exams and we need to chill out. However just as Les Miserables was coming to an end, the musical Grease became available, for the first time in 25 years, so I just had to grab it! Therefore we are auditioning the young people this weekend and our Summer fishing will be somewhat restricted, as we will be working on that through the Summer for production in October.
We will take July off and have every Saturday free, so let's hope for some decent weather!
Here is the wee "secret" place where the Pollack might be.
And here is what is keeping us away from fishing this weekend.
Then July.................. it is the Whitby Festival. 12 days. 5 charters. Bring it on the Cod!! Even I will catch in July!!
