  • STRANGE FISH

A couple of years ago I went out in a boat about 10 miles off shore into some deep water.
After a couple of hours of fruitless fishing (well I wasn\'t fishing for fruit anyway) I got a small bite & struck into something. Whatever it was hardly put up any sort of fight, but it was quite a heavy dead weight.
A couple of minutes later I had it in the boat......One of the most horrible looking fish I had ever seen in my life. I could only describe it as virtualy lifeless, covered in scabs & sores with totally glazed eyeballs.
It must have weighed about 8 pounds & was slightly cod shaped.but definitely not a cod.
Anyway I decided to keep it & take it to Blue Reef aquarium in the hope that they might identify it.
When I got there the marine biologist was totally gob-smacked, and decided it might be easier to identify if it was gutted to find out what it had been feeding on. I watched him carry out this task & when he opened up it\'s stomach contets we just stared at each other in total amazement......as one by one about 20 hyperdermic syringes slid out of it\'s stomach.
\"Well\" said the marine biologist \"I now know what sort of fish it is. It all adds up - scabs & sores all over it, very lathargic in its movements, glazed look about it, & finaly the needles in it\'s stomach\"
    It\'s a drug haddick !!!!!!

I was entralled until you mentioned opening it up as the rest is an old joke I tell that I heard on a jetty when I first started fishing.
You can take the lad out of Walker but .......
