Can anyone remember a programme (series) that was on the television I believe in the early 80s called The Fishing Race. Since I first watched it I always fancied a go at it.
Competitors fished for a full weekend trying to catch as many different species as possible, both fresh and salt water varieties. A point system was sorted out for each fish depending on difficulty. (that is probably the hardest bit lol).
This was recently brought back to mind by Codstoppers post on 30/11/2003 about a 24 hour fishathon.
I was wondering if there was any interest in this as it could be done in teams of maybe four fishing from both shore and afloat.
I know the logistics would be a bit of a nightmare but there is no hurry. If there is enough interest I would be willing to arrange it as I think it would be a great idea.
Anyone that is interested please let me know. It does not have to be a full weekend.
