  • Dunstanburgh in late April??

My first opportunity to go fishing is at the end of April. Catch reports look terrible....
Is late April too early for anything at Dunstanburgh? I'm not thinking mackerel, but more like pollack, coalies, wrasse, codling

    Cheers for any tips.

we fished the castle in late march last year and we had coalies to 2lb so def worth a go, however the winter was not as harsh or long last year and by now the sea temp was about 8 degrees.

Thanks for all that... and good luck to youz who are fishing it - hope for some catch reports.
Good to hear you've had a few decent fish up there in the spring, Davey.
I'll be fishing it the weekend after this one unless the weather's awful. Probably stick a big crab bait on the bottom and float-fish with rag for coalies and pollock. Haven't been fishing for so long that I'll be chuffed to catch a crab, to be honest
