  • A Few Days Away

Well, the FPO's sister is getting married on Friday in Portsmouth so tomorrow I will be making the long drive back to the south coast. I only agreed to go to the damn thing on condition I could take my gear and get a couple of sessions in. When the wedding was planned I was quite looking forward to it; at this time of year the fishing should be really starting to kick off down there with Rays (Thornback and Spotted), Plaice, Bass and Dogfish the targets along with a good chance of early Smoothound and Black Bream.

Unfortunately the perpetual cold has put the fishing way way back; still taking the gear of course but reading the reports from down there I'll be happy with Pouting and a few Bass for my efforts.

Will be out Thursday afternoon for a few hours somewhere then a long session planned for Saturday night on Gilkicker Point. Driving back Sunday so hopefully I'll have some good photographs and a decent report to post on my return

Well according to my Facebook feed from Sea Angler, they've been getting into the first thornback rays around Kent....don't know Portsmouth when it comes to fishing but if the conditions are right then you're bound to have a better time than we're getting up here at the moment - have fun!
