      bloody hell!!!!

i was having a wind up with a mate at work with the original \"mildly delusional\" bit - but the question about mackerel was an honest one

there are 3 of us that work in my bit at work, 2 fishers and a non-fisherman - the non-fisherman was at seahouses and could have sworn he saw mackerel being landed, but as i said this was the opinion of a non-fisherman.
we picked his brains and what he described sounded like mackerel so i came on here to ask if any had been landed - the delusional / porkie pie bit was a laugh between me and the 2 other lads at work, not aimed at anyone on the site

ive caused a reet load of stink here havent i i only wanted to kno if i could get a bit of spinning done

the earliest you can reasonably expect to catch the first macky off the north east coast is about the 3rd week in may (this is the earliest i have ever caught one anyways) but it is more likely around mid june before large numbers can be expected, that said the macky season does seem to be getting longer each year but it seems as if they are staying aroung longer at the end of the season rather than arriving earlier each year. the last few years i have had my best macky sessions of the year late september / early october, getting big bags of macky at this time of year was unheard of 20 years ago. there is always the exeption to the rule, i remember 20 odd years ago a macky being caught on bait from roker pier on the last day in november !!!!!!!!!!
its interesting to note that the first macky of the year in the ne is usually caught from seaham pier, its usually a couple of weeks later when they show on roker and shields piers.

Glad to see everyone back. Missed posting yesterday as I have been having a few probs at work.
Bri, 20 miles off Whitby is a long way from Seahouses breakwater.
On a more serious note, lets all put this behind us and get back to normallity. Whatever that is. As i said before, Welcome back all.
As I have grown older, I've learned that pleasing everyone is impossible,
but P*****g everyone off is a piece of cake.
