    But seriously....
I only started last summer, so I was wondering if there\'s a chance of mackrell at the minute??

I\'m planning on stocking the freezer with bait early................

lemmylad my own personal opinion would be its still a bit to early for the mackerel to be out in force just yet

I\'m no expert but I\'ve been told middle of may from the boats and end of May from the shore.
        Cheers, Keith.

Seen on another site I frequent that Macky are being caught from the shore off the South coast at the minute. Maybe not too long before they make an appearance up here.

They may well be here now, has anyone actually tried fishing for them yet ?? probably not (apart from one person at Seahouses). Only one way to find out and thats to go give it a try.

Spinnes/daylites/lures, good chance of Coalies if nowt else.

I\'m hoping to get out over the weekend so I might as well chuck the rigs out a few times and see if owt happens.
I might even get a 350lb tope off the end of Amble pier and I can tell kipperfillet all about it next week!

            Cheers for the info lads.

I will be up Seahouses again this Sunday and will be talking to a few of the boat anglers up there. Will also be taking my spinning rod as usual. Will post the results on Sunday night.

MickA still suspect it wil be end of May to June before they are off the shore here. The will get them off the shore down there earlier, they are also getting a few on certain marks in Ireland. howitzer won his zone in a match at Portsmouth with mackerel off the beack in mid November last year. They had also been getting Garfish just weeks before.

Just worked everything out today and am still in shock mate.

Can\'t understand why. Waiting for a PM to explain why I should bother my arse looking after this.

Hoping I get that PM or this is going to be my last post on NESA.

                            Jim.
