  • Balcary in the springtime?

Has anybody fished over there around early springtime?

Going over for a sesh in a couple of weeks (22nd April) and wondered if anyone has tried fishing it around early spring.

I think it\'s a tad too early for dogs & thornies.

Never go swimming with bow legged women.

Dont think I\'ve been over this early or late in the season so i\'m not sure mate, you might get the odd Thornback or Dog,a lad I know tried at Cairnryan,Portpatrick and Drumore a couple of weeks ago and the fishing was really slow.
Watch out for any movement in the sea or any wind that comes from the West or South as its very dangerous especially in the dark
    Cheers Alan...

I fished a Peever spring open match over there in April a few years ago and there were a couple of thornies together with a fair few dogs, but the weather had been settled for a while - I think it makes all the difference this early in the season.
