my awld mans after a new macky rod for the summer. can any one recommend a decent rod and reel for the job online without breaking the bank or ill just get one in the tackle shop thanks.

Just get a cheap carp rod it'll do you for loads of summer fishing , macky , float , flatties and plugging :-)I am a fisherman !

You can honestly use anything for maccys mate.... depends what kind of fishing your wanting to do. I have had great fun with carp / flattie rods and a few of the smaller lure fishing rods are great for spinners! Just dont attach them onto a set of 1308430 daylights
