I have to agree with alan if it wasnt for local tackle and bait shops we would be stuck in the house watching eastenders and you know thats crap so its best to keep to the shops you are happy with.

Nice to see a bit of friction on here for a change !!!

Each to there own. I use sports and leisure as its local and handy. I have never had a problem with bait from there and the shop is one of the best supplied around however as far as advice goes it depends on if they can be arsed to speak to you that day yet the next day helpful as can be. Strange way to run a business !!

I have to agree about Frasers at Whitley Bay more than helpful and always has time for you.

more than half the angler today rely on tackle dealers for there bait.some go to where they like the best,me for one like the shop in question,always has what you want no remarks like i\"ll order it for you.cos i dont have it.the shop is very very well stocked and i will be back spending money.if iam an expert can i become a moderator please.

i would suggest if you do get crappy bait from john then take it back im sure that he would apologise and give you some better bait or your money back, then you will have the option to shop elsewhere , i must say from a personal point of view i have been going in the shop since it opened and never had any real problems with bait or anything else.

There is another way top look at it,i know a couple of lads,P & B,who use the shop regularly and dont have a bad word to say about it,personally i have never been in the shop.I live in gateshead so use both the frazers shops,when at the caravan i DO use young johns shop McDermotts ( not a bad word to say about them,good bait and helpful) I also use CD Tackle (newbiggin) same again Good bait and advice off Cecil.The problem could be if you dont use the shops regularly,or they might be a bit short of bait they will keep the good bait for regulars.It happens in every shop.But hey thats life,if ya dont like what ya get take it back and complain,but dont slag the shop off on an open forum.To be honest i have never found a bad tackle shop yet
