is that the shop next to the car park ????

if it is i wouldnt waste your time asking advice i have been in about 4 or 5 times and every time i ask anything i have had a shi**y response - every time ive bought bait it sems like such a chore for them to go to the back of the shop and get it

there are 2 blokes in there who are the most miserable unhelpful people ever

try asking advice from Frasers at whitley bay, the bald fella or the scouser at billys in north shields or even the old fella at cd tackle in newbiggin - theyve all been well helpful but i cant say the same for sport and leisure

i only go there now for last ditch emergencies

re anth.i only posted to let people no that they have large quantitys of top quality peeler.my experience with the shop and the lads have been fine.your attitude however does seem to be the oppisite.not supprised they are grumpy when they see you enter.try to be a little more curtious and you will find others treat you the same.as for the last ditch effort of going to the shop as a very last chance.the reason they have bait in as they buy in huge quantitys and have most baits available.well we no you wont be buying good crabs from there.carry on buying your usual cr@p there are anglers and there are danglers you are obviously the later.oh and before you say you are entitled to your opinion so am i.

great that there are some crab up for sale but why does the dreaded CRAB cause so much trouble lol.
fishingforcod it was very good of you to put a post up but i also think that everyone is entitled to there own opinion about what they think about everything inc local shops. i have nothing bad to say about the shop and i do use it now and then but i also have nowt good to say either. i am a plesent sort of person with a smille for most but out of all the shops around it is the one i have had the least help and information off. thats all i have to say on this and i am not getting into a slagging match.

              cheers

my last word on this cos im not getting involved in a slagging match either

ask anyone you see fishing and the majority say there service is crap and theyre bait is crap...theyre lug is goin to mush as it comes over the counter and the rag ive had is half dead

the frozen crab - is that not from the same frozen bait supplier that all the shops use ??? i couldve sworn it was..but never mind

                love and kisses
                xxx

                :P :P

The crab is the owners John own stock and very good value for money, simply due to work commitments he has not been able to fish much this year.
The staff i have found are ok,everyone to their own.
On the subjects of baits, put the boot on the other foot,i am sure most people would moan if they went to their regular supply and found only dregs left because the good stuff had gone to a one time visitor.
They have to and i would expect them to keep their regulars happy.
As with everything, take time to build a relationship, just as you would with your mechanic, plumber etc.

the bait supplier you refer to as the same?dont think so but not getting in to slagging match with you.as for the lug have not seen anything like what you are saying and not heard owt by anyone else.as for the rag its the same from sea bait which i agree and so does the shop in question but it takes what it can get so the angler a least has one bait.you are probably aware the shortage of bait all year and i no for definete the the shop has tried different bait supplys from all over including holland and belgium but this to was hitty missy.as for the lads not giving any help would totaly disagree as again the owner has taken leds owt to different marks and has no problems in doing that for almost anyone who uses the shop.i no there are and still is a lot of backstabbing in the fishing trade but thats not the only thing where back stabbing happens.my post was to inform others on the site that he had in access of 2000 crab for sale these were 2-3 in a wrap not one little crab you usually see and you cant disagree with that.go and have a look at the crab and then tell me your not happy with the bait.i dont think so.on a leaving note you shop where you are happy and i will shop in the shop where iam happy.

All shops have there good points and bad points,as a rule we dont normally slag off tackle dealers on NESA if you are\'nt happy with the shop dont use it simple as that.
There\'s a few shops which I would\'nt go back to but other lads swear by them,as for the shop thats mentioned his staff are always very helpful and friendly
                        Cheers Alan...

I have to agree with alan if it wasnt for local tackle and bait shops we would be stuck in the house watching eastenders and you know thats crap so its best to keep to the shops you are happy with.
                          Cheers Nicky

must admit I drive past both Mcdermots and Sports & leisure when it comes to bait.
I was over the moon when Frazers opened up in Whitley bay.

But as already said, each to there own
