  • Worst winters fishing?

Sitting here, drained, moving flats, stuff everwhere, loaded with cold Ive had for a month, work and sleep is all i do, cant take time off as Ive a wedding to pay for, snot and plegm all ower, coughing like a 100 a day man, and thought about it, I havent had a single cod this winter. I dont fish every week, in fact I havent fished sinse the NESA comp(and thats not cos I hoyed my gear away in a paddy), anyone else think It hasnt been the codfest we were expecting?

Roll on the summer and Mull of Galloway.

Im off to work now, again.

That about sums it up. Had quite a lot of undersize codling. Does that mean it\'s going to be good next year?

I thought it was alright until about Christmas/New Year time then it died off and never really recovered,so I would say I\'ve had a mixed season but a poor ending, the conditions are great at the minute but I know it will be a waste of time and money going out
        Cheers Alan...

As someone who lives a long way from the coast and can only get at weekends I\'m finding that the general sport is better in summer.

I can usually count on plenty of flatties, coalfish and a bass or two most sessions during the summer, but this winter has been completely hit and miss. Not blanked more than a couple of times but not done too well either despite fishing in some perfect conditions.

glad I didn\'t bother! Haven\'t read/heard/seen anything which has encouraged me to sort the winter gear out. still got over 200 crabs in the freezer collected last summer

I\'ve spent most my spare time renovating a house for my daughter this winter and been watching the reports and didn\'t see anything that made me down tools. I hope it picks up for the summer

been the same over cumbria oct/nov was good then the weather turned easterly and the fish disappeared,a good sea would fetch fish back in but there hasnt been any of them hardly.
thought it was gonna be a belter early on then it just got worse.
