Had a walk along Blyth Pier today at about 12.30pm. Nothing had been caught despite a reasonable SE sea running. Felt a bit sorry for the dozen or so anglers fishing, most of whom were casting into the teeth of a bitter SSE wiind. YOU deserve better lads!!
On the way off I couldn\'t help thinking of the last time I was out fly fishing for trout, on a lovely warm autumn day. That day I seem to remember I caught a 6lb Bluebottle.....gave me quite a buzz I can tell you. The fly used was a \'Trouts Whisker\' (Honest !)
