a small 6\" length of fresh eel section
I\'d go along with that. For me mackerel comes well down the list of baits.
Eel sections, lamprey if you can get them, launce, herring and rolled dab fillets are all better.
Some pretty good info at http://www.fishing.co.uk/article.php3?id=112
    Cheers

sorry did,nt read it properly ---do,nt kn ow about shore caught tope
the boats do,nt fish that far off the point of the mull so it may be possible
how far off do they fish????
lLast year Ian Burrett from Onyermarks was getting them drifting no more than 25/30 yds off the flat rock shot at the end of the Mull.
Another mark to try is Jocks Point/Terrally Bay in June.

Never tried for the topeBUT Ian Burret said go for a big tide and hoy some rubby dubby in. Jocks Point is Terrally Cottage - where the picnic tables are.

Mind you they are aso caught from the middle of the bay.

Catch ya all over there at some stage. Going over tomorrow to openmy van for the year at Clashwhannon Caravan Park Drummore.

I think there\'s more chance of a tope from the South Yorkshire beaches than most anglers realise, but I\'ve only had the odd small one.
That must be one hell of a cast must be over 40 miles from south yorkshire to the coast. Do you give casting lessons

There's a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot. I guess I'm the idiot.

Sorry no disco these days. If you look on Ian Burretts website\"onyermarks\" there is more contact info in there about local digs. Hope this helps
