  • Egg Whisk??

Just bought an 11\' carp rod to do a bit spinning and flattie bashing in the summer, can anyone recommend a decent egg whisk to use with it, or would a small multiplier be better?

Davey my little Abu 6500 ct works a dream with my carp rod, however I also use a Okuma Undertaker 50 fixed spool which is also fine

Shimano baitrunners are very good but at the top of the price range. Anything around the £30-40 mark should be ok. I\'ve always fancied an Abu Eon multiplier but they cost a bomb. Loads of cheaper multiplier baitrunners though. Maybe buy loads of diferrent ones Davey and hoy the **** ones away.

I use both but much prefer a small multiplier, depends on weight I\'m casting, with lures less than 30g I find it hard to get the multplier firing effectively so would use a FS reel - abu cardinal or shimano baitrunner usually

daiwa millionaire (6H) or, best value reel I\'ve ever bought a shakepspeare neptune 300

hoy the brake blocks away straight away, loosen everything and it gans well, 15lb line and a 2oz lead and I can nearly empty its little spool!

Like Alan, I use an Okuma Undertaker and coupled with a Ron Thompson Titanium Bass rod, I can\'t fault it.

Davey, you will find your carp rod has been rung for fixed spool.
If you use a multiplyer the line will be touching the blank while reeling in because the rings are so few and so far apart.

never thought about it or noticed it, but used a carp rod/multiplier for a few years and its not caused any probs. I\'ll have to watch wherre the line runs next time I use it

Okuma UT50 --- pile of crap imo. Used mine twice, line lay was terrible, so much twist it was unreal. Never came out its box since.

Personally don\'t like f/s reels but I got a shimano aspire last year for light spinning and get on ok with that. Much prefer to use small 5500 multi wherever possible

Don\'t think you can beat the high quality 4000 size Shimano fixed spool reels. I\'ve got a 4000 Stradic with the fighting drag which does the job great.
