  • Easter fishing

With my show, Les Miserable, over it is time to plan the Easter fishing trip starting a week on Friday. Got off to a bad start with man flu on Sunday, but I am battling bravely through it and have decided to get off the couch and get the gear ready. In my world Lynn catches all the fish and I do all the prep work!

We have all the boat gear organised, as we had prepared for a trip to Whitby at Xmas, which was cancelled due to the weather (no doom and gloom about the next few weeks please!). Shore rigs need to be tied and as this is not my best skill, it may take a while. I am going to try tying float rigs for Pollack. Never tried it before, but I have looked on the web, so going to give it a bash.

Before we do any fishing we have to meet up with a few guys for our usual buying spree that we seem to do each year! I will message you guys over the next few days to arrange to meet up.

Booked at Church Point in a Gold Plus caravan - gone posh this year! They don't do the £15 deals to suit our Easter holidays

So far we have planned a shore session at the Beacons, 2/3 charter trips, a beach session at a place where the name escapes me (but we fished it 2 years ago and caught a fair few flatties) and possibly a boat trip out with a friend off the sight.

A lot of fishing for eight full days down there, which is the way we like it. I am cognisant of the weather forecast and maybe subconsciously this is why I booked a caravan with central heating!

I hope we are luckier with the weather(and the fish) than last year and Lynn and I are looking forward to catching up with old friends and new friends we have yet to meet.

Debated whether to bore you with this or not, but due to the lack of actual fishing reports, I assume due to the weather, I thought I would post.

See you soon guys.................the Scots are coming!
2016 - Cod, Dab, Dogfish, Gurnard, Ling, Mackerel, Saithe, Scorpian fish. .

      Good luck
In order to become "old & wise", you must first be young & stupid.
Age and experience will beat youth and enthusiasm every time.
Youth and Skill is no match for Age and Treachery.
