  • Mk2 kompressor sport

I have been looking at this rod for a while now and was just wanting some info from the experts i was mainly concerned about the bite detection of the rod i know its a mixed ground rod but i was hoping that it would be ok as an allrounder over mixed ground and smooth beaches ?

    Thanks in advance chaps

I was looking at the ss and noticed it had the same tip but a stiffer but and a better gearbox design i think but i thought that the ss was an out and out rough ground beast

I had the mark1 for a good few years but it went a bit soft in the tip, however the newer models undergo some process to retain the action of the blank. I don't think there will be many "fishing rods" that can claim to be better for the purpose that you require, if any. A fishing rod with good balance, good build quality, fishability and casts for fun. That's my two pennies worth.

ur bite detection on the rod would also be subject to the rigs u use n how u set up etc. imho bite detection in the komp ss is spot on especially in rough conditions(winds etc)

its half as stiff as some rods ive owned . hardly a rough ground beast at all tbh . i'd have to call it a middle ground rod, its easy to cast has good bite detection , but over rough ground i'd favour my conoflex Anubis + anyday .

In my personal experience I have the SS and learned to cast with it but it is not imo a rough ground rod it will take a bit of abuse tho and I have fished with it at Craster in what I call the cabbage as in kelp but unfortunately it didn't have enough backbone to keep the retrieve going that my ttr or blue raptor I found the slightest bit click on the bottom and it folded too easy but then it's horses for courses it is a very good rod for clean to mixed ground and a cracking beach rod I remember when I bought it I had the s and SS side by side and the s was a hell of alot softer butt wise as in s was c curve and the SS j curve. I have found that the SS is quite a forgiving rod to cast tho and easily capable of putting a bait 150yds and 200 plus on the field.
