just got back from getting our lasses car MOTd and since the garage is just a stones throw away from southwick prom i decided to have a walk down while the garage was busy with her car.
spent many days flatty bashing down there in the 80s fished loads of comps there and tons of pleasure sessions as well. what a shock i got at the delapitated state its in now. rubbish dumped all over the place, a lot you can tell has been there a very long time and some very recent an absolute breeding ground for vermin (saw 3 rats raking amongst it). the worst area is on the top of the bank at the western end but the whole place is in a hell of a state.
theres certainly some scum about, they\'ve turned a lovely fishing venue into a sh*t pit. i\'m going to try and find some time this week to go back down and photograph it and send the photos along with a letter off to the council and try to get something done as its not only an eyesore but a health hazzard.

Nice one mick.someone dumped a van load of them free papers in the woods at the top of our street phoned the council and asked if thay could send someone to clear up, all i got was phone this department.er. nothing to do with us try this number etc.nothing was done for weeks.told them i was going to phone the press it works wonders thay were there the next day.

Its a shame Mick. Like you said, it used to be a great mark to fish on a summers day, loads of room and pretty quiet as well. Look forward to seeing your letter mate - good luck with it.
