Got to agree with Davey Red, over south west Scotland have used them with the float and also spun with them singly deadly for Pollock if you hit the right depth and feeding zone. Have also had a few good results using them this way at St. Abbs and coldingham area of Scottish borders. In the summer i use daylights to catch the big bonk (launce) eels of Shields pier just down the side of the small wall. Ammo sandeels also take some beating, funnily enough i\'ve never had much success fishing for cod, whiting etc with frozen sandeels. Cheers

Have to agree Davy ,float fished ,a quality bait ,I\'ve had no luck with them here mind even though some of the cod I\'ve caught have had a few sandeels in them.
You can take the lad out of Walker but .......

Got a codling off Blyth beach using a Launce earlier in the season, just tried it out as it was stuck on the bottom of my bait box when I got to the beach, bit surprised, I thought it might have been a Bass.
Best used over the summer months for Pollock,Mackerel and Bass but theres no harm in trying,it works for Jimmy

A mate of mine (Robfow) used to use them quite often on Blyth beach with canny results.

                    Jim.

I get good results on Sandsend beach with them. I think that if they are present anyway at a venue (like at Sandsend) you\'re never going to go far wrong using them as a bait.

try them on a fixed wishbone rig, one hook baited with lug and the other sandeel, when you get a fish it is almost always on the sandeel.

works very well at lynemouth beach

Nice one Peter,I\'ve got a few wishbone rigs but normally put the same baits on both hooks, good idea.
Jim have you heard from Robfow lately, remember meeting him on Blyth beach, nice lad

No mate I needed some info from him a while back and contacted his wife. She said he would be away for a while but would ring me on his return.

Dead right though mate, cracking lad.

                            Jim.
