for the price on the sk4 spin , they outa be amazing
canny deal I found here ---- Sonik SK4 Spinning Rods with FREE Mitchell Avocet II Spinning Reel
I bought myself a 11ft Shakespeare alpha x bass rod at fishing republic .casts a dream with 3oz leads, have had 4 mackerel on at once and it lifted them in no bother on Seaham pier . so a single bass it will cope with no problems.also it was only £29.99 ....
its on special here only £20 plus pnp £7 ---- http://www.fishingmegastore.com/shak...1ft~13673.htmlLast edited by marco1967; 09-03-2013, 07:03 AM.

It all depends on what you want out of a rod, if you want huge distances then you need something that will chuck out a couple ounces of lead.
If you want a lure rod for hard plastic lures then i'd go about 10 to 40g
If you want something with a little more finesse and want to experiment with soft plastics but still be able to use hard plastics and small metals for bass, then i'd go for something about 8 to 28g. this will give you more feel at the lower end of your casting ratio.

Used a Hardys 10 ft spinning rod as my main bass rod for years. Was given a Sonik 12 ft carp rod to test for bass fishing and I have never looked back. Can cast all day with it and never tire.
