apparently they\'re laying off another 18 staff up here.....Sourcing out the reels to Peterlee!
More like getting them made in malaysia or somewhere similar. They have been doing this for a while then claiming british made.
If people think you are an idiot, why speak and remove all doubt !

Love my mk1, the only rod that I\'ve used to get near it is the Zziplex Dream Machine.

The Zziplex dream machine was a fairly soft (through action) rod. I would have thought the appollo was more of a tip actioned rod.
Yours may have gone soft through time (they all do)

Good point Sless. Only thing is I\'ve never heard of a daiwa snapping - must be doing something right!

made in china, \'assembled\' in britain, that means putting the stickers on and putting em in a bag, greys rods in china -$7 each...but you have to buy 500 at at time! any one fancies it, I\'ve got the email address of their overseas sales gadgy

I\'ve snapped a daiwa tip section, mind you I did reverse over it in the car, top 10 inches gone, just glued and whipped a new tip ring on the stump on a carried on using it......thats was 5 years ago!

Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything but bring a smile to your face when thrown down the stairs

Converting an MFV Fifie trawler type thing.

Davy, have you seen the 50/50 and the GSi sport.
They are very like the Dream Machine.

I haven\'t Terry. I\'ve got a Zziplex Pro-am match which I\'ve had for about 15 years now, and got an XTR last year for over SW scotland (doggie bashing lol)

I had a 6ft carbon butt for my dream machine - made it a totally different rod (for the better)
