  • what s with them pink eels???

    i went out on monday night after work....it was that cold there was ice crystals growing on me rod :S ooer

    anyway it was as flat as owt at blyth pier and i caught a crab that wouldnt let go ( annoying) and a minging pink eel ( even more annoying)

    why do eels exist??
    i kno where supposed to embrace gods creatures - but when they slime up your gear and you cant pick em up to chuck em back in, well its just not cricket!!!

    only clean nice big fish from now on!!!

      Hagfish by the sounds of it Anth,quite a few showing on Blyth pier,best just cut your gear off and sling it mate

          i ve found them on the beach whilst digging twice now. i didnt know what it was so asked bloke he said they swim up the jacksy of bigger fish and eat them from the inside out! was i spoonfed a load of poo. how do u hook them they have no obvious mouth?

            yes patto m8t , i heard the same as u, they r supposed 2 have round jaws that can b rotated so it scores out little plugs of flesh if u know wot i mean.
            ugly looking things, i faulse hooked 1 off lynemouth beach just b4 christmas, had never seen 1 b4.

              The dreaded hagfish, horrible things, theres loads off Shields pier. As alan.f says best to just chuck your rig if you catch one, I took a slimed rig home once and tried to clean it in some hot water, nightmare, the slime is a pig to get off.

                hi anth, me and my mate peter were fishing at anchor a couple of weeks ago and he is now the north east hagdog champion he caught 3 virtually one after another . horrible things jim
