This may be a waste of time as the start of this thread still hasnt been confirmed but if it helps, I have spoken to the Marine Unit (Police) today and may be able to clarify things a bit.

It is blatently obvious if you have to climb over fences/walls or swing like a monkey from climbing ropes that someone is trying to keep you out of their territory !....after all if someone decided to use your own back garden as a walk through when you have high fences up, it would probably start to p*ss you off after a while.

If you enter any land/area that is privately owned you are tresspassing. If the police are informed you may well be asked to leave and your details requested which can be passed onto the owner of the land. It is up to the owner if they take out a prosecution. This is a civil matter and should not be confused with criminal tresspass which was brought in specifically to combat raves etc as the laws in place were not effective to deal with that particular problem .....

If you set your lip up with any choice language and commit an offence contrary to the Public Order Act you can expect to get arrested. Your gear will obviously be taken with you and on your release you will be given your gear back as the cops have a duty to look after your property whilst you are in custody and lets face it how would you like a box full of lug/rag/squid and fish stinking up your office. This is not confiscation, it is just that you will find it hard no matter how much of a distance caster you are to hit \'MARK X\' from the inside of a cell.

MORAL/ADVICE : If you get caught out, keep your gob shut or if you do open it, at least apologise for wasting the cops time as they could be patrolling around where your cars are parked keeping the vermin away and if they ask for your details and request you to vamoose then do what they ask.

My anti cop comment was misplaced, I have been following these posts with interest and appreciate the information yourself and others have posted for us. I post in haste and repent at leisure. Your last post makes much sense foz, I was apologising for comments aimed at insano in a one-eyed red wine cider moment last night.

I will confine my anti cop rants to the chat area in future
