  • Boulmer Haven

Been digging this morn up at boulmer, load of dicks digging on the wrong side of the beach normally where the boats are moored, its probaly now only a matter of time before these morons suceed in getting it stopped for every one.I think a few more spot fines are called for, then the ********s may have a bit consideration for the local coble lads as well as the anglers who try to do things by the book.

Silvers, those idiots will probably be the first to whine when they do get it stopped. I think your right when you say give them spot fines. Something in the region of £300 and there car confiscated untill they pay. A few of them and it will soon stop.
Remember, some people are alive simply because it is illegal to shoot them.

I have only been bait digging up that way once..is it well sign posted not to dig at that side? if not how about some of you lot that dig up there often bang up a couple of signs next to the car parking area or the main way down to the beach..just and idea like.

Richy, theres a map of the beach in the main car park,it clearly points out where you can and cannot dig.I would nt care but there are plenty of decent worms to be had from where your allowed to dig.

I realise there are places you can and places you can\'t dig. If you can\'t dig, that should be then end of it, and on the spot fines should be enforced.BUT... amongst the place that you can\'t dig, how do you know you can\'t dig unless there\'s some obvious signs etc?? Only once have I fallen foul of this. Someone \'local\' to the area approached me and told me it was outlawed, so I stopped. But there was nowt anywhere to tell me as such.

I did think it was someone just trying to scare me off digginf on their patch, but did subsequently discover it was a no-no. If I\'d known that I\'d not have bothered. I suppose any funds raised by fines should pay for some signs at least.

What about those that dig for commercial pofit ie to sell on?? as individuals your less likely to completely rape one patch of beach, than if you are flogging em. Perhaps commercial diggers ought to licenced.

Bit hipocritical I know as we would all love to be able to buy the best bait from our local tackle shop, but I have also seen vast trenches cut across the beach, left unfilled, and decimating a particaular worm bed

Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything but bring a smile to your face when thrown down the stairs

Converting an MFV Fifie trawler type thing.

Your right mark,it isnt clearly marked any where now(apart from the map in the carpark)when it first came in to been the big boulders down the boundry were painted white, now theres nothing suppose it wouldnt take much for alnwick D.C to put up a proper marker but then again there might be method in there madness, they dont want bait digging full stop so the more compaints they get the stronger the case for a total ban.
