Halls skeer... is to the far north of collywell,probably the better of all the marks at collywell as this has a reputation of producing double figure fish.
I remember reading in sea angler that a local lad claimed you got one once in every six visits to the place ...lol it hasn\'t happened for me yet but my favourite mark here none the less.
On a good tide you can see the thick kelp that surrounds all of these marks at collywell and I find a short lob about 30 yards slightly to the right (follow the gut out) after a good blow will put you into fish.
Best baits crab and mussel.

Charlies... is one of the two more accessible marks at collywell as your able to fish it from about 3hours before low water and follow the tide out, this mark is the more prominent mark that runs along side halls and is easily recognised by the large rock known as charlies garden which stands at the base of the skeer, from here Ive found a lob of about 30 or so yards to the right into the bay area will produce smaller codling of around the 3-4lb mark, but a chuck to the left towards the halls area will produce fewer but better fish and know people who have had cod to 15lb from here

The Middle skeer... is the second of the more accessible marks situated between charlies and the round rocks to the south of collywell here again you have options a short lob of around 30yrds or so straight out on a good or dying northeasterly can produce fish to 9lb + but Ive found that chucking slightly to the right as the tide starts to flood will produce smaller codling in quantity on a good tide

The Round rocks... is the most southerly of the marks at collywell and the least accessible of the marks as it has to be a good tide to gain access to it be very careful here as the tide can come in behind you but the mark can be a good shot if caught right (low tide after a good blow)
Ive know people again to have double figured fish from here.

Crag point... is a high water mark and you should take extreme precaution with this mark Ive only fished it once and wasn\'t to comfortable with it your fishing about 50ft up on the side of the cliff the rock here is slippy and on a slope exposed to the winds and not my idea of fun its best fished on a good sea and people have had good bags from there though I would not like to be up there in those conditions.

Bottom of the ramp... this is a high water mark as the bay completely fills up at high water leaving only charlies garden above the water line, fished best on a good easterly/southeasterly this mark can produce some good bags of fish mussel and squid being a good bait here when there\'s plenty colour in the water ,weed can be a problem!!! Make sure to situate yourself well up from the bottom of the ramp as the waves on a high tide lash up against the wall at the base .

Tackle loss from all marks at collywell is heavy so a 535/525,7000+ reel with 30-40lb line straight through and a single hook rotten bottom rig required

Collywell Bay is situated between the Kings Arms pub in seaton sluice and Old Hartley if you turn in towards the Waterford Arms and follow the road around you will see the sea and a fence that runs along the top of the cliffs there\'s an opening at the bottom, follow the ramp down to gain access to the bay.
Or to the south follow the public footpath and then down the ramp.

another good shot at hartley is called the broken leg , by some , cos if your not careful you will get a broken leg on the way to it , you can fish this mark all the way through a very small high tide , for to get to it , go down the big steps and go straight north with the clifff edges on your left side , you will go around another cliff overhang and the mark is about 30 yds north of here , the best way i can describe this mark is its like fishing in a big rock pool but really deep in the middle,great care must be taken when getting there , if you havent been there before go in daylight for to get used to the mark and how to get there , i have seen doubles dragged out of there and know it fishes well. be carufull of the rocks as they are very slippy, a word of caution though if you do fish this mark please make sure that it is a small tide as you will get cut off with no means of escape.

I used to get some good peeler eater crab out of this pool over low water in the summer, before it was banned, never considered fishing it though as always concerned about getting cut off. Will have to give it a go. How safe is it in big northerly seas......

Do you fancy trying the Chapmans mark in a large northerly, to see how you get on........Only joking, you will probably end up on blyth beach
