whats this fish??

I started fishing about 3 years ago and with this been one of the first fish i caught i took a photo. I've just came across it now and can't work out what it is?? It was a stronger purple colour in real life to. its almost like a purple bass lol it was caught on a spinner in mackerel season

Looks like a twaite shad , I've hooked a few but never landed one, they go like stink.

I caught one of about 1lb off Roker on a Koster back in August. Didn't offer anything like the fight of a mackerel.

If i remember it didn't give much of a fight mackerel certainly give a stronger one though but overall a pretty little fish haha
