  • tips on cod fishing

    planning a session or two next week to see if any coddling about around the yellow isle portpatrick

    what are the prefered rigs ie pulley, pennel or single hook size of hook etc

    planning digging lug at weekend and combining with squid in an attempt to tease some nice fish
    any help would be much appreciated as to date i only caught one coddling of 2lb and that was on a boat recently
    its the taking part that counts

    Andrew I prefer a Pulley Pennel with a 4/o main hook and a 2/o Pennel hook,normally use 60lb main body and 25lb or 35lb hook trace of about 18 to 25 inches.

      Het Alan I was going to say that with the exception of a 1/0 top hook.

            Same as me but with double 4/0 pennel

              I usually use 5/0 s. Just think it\'s a personal preference. Best of luck Andrew, looking forward to your reports mate.
