i meant to post this last night in catch reports but i got hammered rather quickly on the stella and cant remember much else .
i was up at stonehaven with young shaun on sunday and he had 5 to 5lb+ i had 3 to 6lb+. remember the post TC put on about the fish with the elastic band round it,well the biggest fish had what looked like a hoover or some kind of electric motor belt round it

i removed the belt and released the fish,it hadnt been on long as it had only cut into the top of the fish about 3-4mm.
went for a pint after work tonight and les reckons its just debris that the fish has picked up but i am a bit more cynical than that and think its ********s again.

Aye, I was inclined to believe that the ring around the codling I caught was \"just one of those things\" that happen when stuff is carelessly discarded into the sea.........until I seen the replies I had back from my post.
What was around the one I had, was one of those plastic rings you get around 4 packs of beer. Several people mentioned about the elastic band instances........got to think now (especially after seeing your photo, Gordon), that\'s it\'s not just \"one of those things\", but they have been INTENTIONALLY put around the fish by some sickos who\'d caught them when they were a little smaller.

not a frozen one Scott just one on its last legs after all the rain at my match on sat which incidently i got the same result as you did in the whitley match
i hate the fife coast,nice sea on and only 6 or7 weight in

your right mark it does look like the bands they do use on some pots i never thought of them,but the way they are used on the pots i think its unlikely that the fish would have managed to get its head through the band and then detach it of the pot,unless it had just had a smoke of some weed and had the munchies,went mental and tried to get at the scabby macky inside,hence getting its napper stuck through a masia warriors neck ring
