yes sean i knew this topic would get people going
i fish mostly off the cliff tops from target rock to seaburn
the heights vary from zero to about a100 ft
and in all the years ive fished these venues ive never sean anyone wind up any more than 4 pound ive saw loads of people get the fish to
the bottom of the cliff and tried it and the reel ( multiplyer ) just cant
do it
i personaly think you would fck the reel
ive saw people myself included put the rod tip as close to the water and lift the fish out i think people might be getting confused with this
that is why i stated AT LEAST 30 FT high
the black path goes from zero to no more than 10 ft high
cheers tonyHonours

There is a couple of Alps between the german /italian border (if there is one) that if you catch a fish it will be seriously dead before you get it in cos you have 2 reel it in for several hundred miles and sometimes it gets snagged on a mountain or a block of Italian council flatsRegards, Graham

Na, you just dont expect to catch a fish u cant reel in or you would have stronger gear. I used to love a single macky on a dinky 5lb spinning rod that would \"play you\" for a while before the ineviable. one Little macky on the right gear can entertain you more than a 10lb cod/ling that spewed its guts at the first sign of a hull.Regards, Graham
