braid can be used on a multi but it has to be round profile braid stops it digging in, also use less turns of handle when thumbing it across your spool. plenty of people use it now for the rough ground they still use a mono leader though for abrasion.

i will be getting myself some power pro soon to use on my mutli for the rough ground.

if using braid on a beach in good sea's and can be hard to hold bottom though as it has not strech to it.

    hope this helps m8

Braid is fine on a multi. You need to pick a good round braid, like power pro, and be mindful to move it across the spool faster with your thumb as you retreive.
That stops any chance of bedding in. Also use a short mono backing to atatch it to the spool, and check it regularly for damage.
If you use a mono shockleader your braid will last years. I've got 2 sl20sh loaded with 66lb power pro and cast miles with them.
The only downside is if you get an angry cod on that you need to bully, and it starts shaking its head, without any stretch in the braid you can easily straighten hooks or pull them clean out. So set your drag.
I use a long 60lb shockleader down to a 3 way swivel then 50lb sinker drop and hooklength.
I find varivas big mouth extra and gamakatsu octopus in 5/0 man enough to cope.
Give it a go matey, but set that drag.
      Stay safe!
      Enjoy your fishing!

The extras are spot on. The normal big mouth just snap.
I use Viking uptide hooks if I need a hook that will bend out.

                  I rocker.

can see where braid will have its advantages on certain marks.
i found when I had a cod on which was battling back to the kelp i tended not to rive as much. coz when i did i lost it.

its logical for people to advise a softer rod or set the drag, but by doing that the fish has ledged itself under a bolder, and thats it. 'fish lost'

only a opinion, just not for me
coz some match lads i know do well with it

Same, the only problem ive found is the points turn over easyly but just keep on checking them and replace if it does.
