  • smiths docks tomorrow

hoping to catch tomorrow after blanking the past 4 times ive been out. bought some monster crab oil to soak my bait in, is this a good idea does anyone know ? never used crab oils and there was no peeler oil left. going to use fresh lug, runnydown and squid. apparently there is loads of small codling in the river atm, but i still believe my big cod is out there waiting for me lol. might also take a few mussel.... will post a report tomorrow night. tight lines all.

I was down at Jarrow Park tonight 26/1 fished the last of the ebb and the first of the flood loads of undersized codling and whiting about bringing them in 2 at a time. The river must be stuffed with them. I'm sure if you used a 3 hook rig you'd be bringing them in 3 at a time. Just a pity they are not size. These are being caught all over the river as high up as Hebburn marina. Everyone who i spoke to had the same results all undersized fish caught on lugworm and runnydown. The whiting on mackeral and lug.
