Hi I have read quite a lot of posts about fishing in a club or not I started club fishing about 8 year ago and my fishing has never looked back as there is a lot of help out their I started in a big club around 50 members after it was not bad at first but into the 3rd year there was a lot of back stabbing going on this was not what I wanted to here when I came back to the weigh ins. I had my best season that year but decided to leave the club I was not going to join another one but a couple of friends talked me into joining their club Bedlington Station S.A.C it only had about 10 members at the time the first thing I noticed was how friendly every one was, 5 year on I have become the chairman of the club we have 30 members 20 who fish most of the comps and it is still a friendly club. Myself and the committee have worked very hard to make sure that our members are well looked after every one gets a free membership to the N.S.F. We are sponsored by ultima so every on gets free line we have also bought every one a set of waterproof smocks salopettes, fish bags and measures from Titan all they had to do was fish 10 comps to get them. We also noticed that by the end of the season there was quit a gap after you got down to about 10th place some people didn’t fish to much at the end of the season so we have introduced a second league well actually 3 we have a league 1 /2 and a over all one so even if you are in the 2nd one you could still become club champion we find that the 2nd is a very close league ands it keep people interested because they always have a chance to win something .

What fishfinder said
thanks for taking the time CodDad
I forked out a few quid to be able to fish Tunstall resevoir (a very reasonable amount) and as a result became a member of \"Tunstall Fly Fishers\". I was part of a club. I thought if that\'s what it takes to fish here then fair play. It\'s been great, I\'ve felt like I have a support network of people ready to give advice and help, slightly beyond the norm, part of the club really. A lot of lads ask about joining clubs and I think most don\'t because of a worry about comittment. Join the club!!
If you get booted out join another, if you booted out of that one join a different one. If you get booted out of that one take the Jason mask off and put your clothes on and go fish with the Cleadon lads
