ok lads..recommend me some chesties.. will the cheaper ones stand up to some use? or will they be false economy and let me feet get wet 3rd time out?

I have some snowbee they've lasted 2 years now n still going strong, the grip I think is second to none they are like pins in the soles n loads of them, they grip to everything

I got some ron thompsons which seem fine but not studded.

If i was going to buy for rocks i would look at Snowbee Granite of Sonik.

My Ron Thompsons were about 50 squid.

Had the Greys and they lasted me 4 years. Got Sonik now and they're fine. Greys a bit more roomy, Sonik got a wider footprint on the boot. Both done the business have a look and see what suits you best. The way I look at it is £120 for 4 full years is less than a pound a week.

hated them me like , used to walk off the beach and up the beach banks , was soaked with sweat right through my tracky bottoms and walking up hills was a struggle in them.i prefer the ocean rubber ones myself,no good for piers like if your kneeling down alot. id buy the breathable neoprene ones if i ever buy a new pair.

I don't think there's such thing as a perfect comfy pair of waders, neoprene or PVC. I've owned a few pair of both over the years and for me the best of the bunch so far has to be the neoprene soniks. Not too bad off a grip when wading through gully's and on rocks and far less of a sweat on when walking to and from your chosen mark. PVC choice would be Ocean, very durable and can take a tumble or two without ripping.

My Snowbee Granites leak in one boot. I've lost a few of the studs from each foot and tried gluing these on the assumption that one of the blighters is the cause of the leak, but to no avail! I haven't wore them loads...Might have to gaffa-tape a plaggy bag to my shin :-(
