I have just bought an Abu 7000 and loaded with 30 lb line all the way through. Perfect reel for heavy ground fishing.
My main reels are a Penn mag 525 and an Abu 6500. These have 18lb line on. I would,nt run back with the Abu they are a good reel and very strong. I have an old one i bought off e-bay years ago which looks like its been in a hard time with no paint left on but still works perfect.
Personal best, 12.5lb Tope Scotland. 22/05/2012.

up to you john to make the choice but in my opinion the greys is a good reel never had any bother at all with mine
i think it gets a really bad ride cause its not a BIG named reel so a lot of people
instantly think its rubbish but if they have used it and dont like it thats there opinion
stick with what you got as i dont think the lad at the tackle shop will give you another g-mag7 thinking about it now!
                all the best john mate

A think am gonna just keep it and maybe take the level wind out to try and speed it up and to stop the naughty noise when casting lol.

I have one also, bought cheap from a mate who wasn't impressed, I removed the levelwind and seems ok, feels solid enough and decent build quality but haven't had anything decent on the end of it to brag it up more.
                      Cheers.

                        my first multi

Think I was about 10/11 years old got a Penn Delmar (spelling a little iffy) was lush, dead basic, no magnets, or anything like that, could chuck a lead about 100m easy.I had a 11ft double tapered rod,I got off a mate for free, used to walk W/Bay beach after school looking for weights, hooks, and anything else I could use,Still got the rod (somewere) "O" happy days

Nothing wrong with g-mag if you set it up right, dont put it on a zippy, conoflex or century, as these rods need, penn or something expensive to work best, i put my g-mag on my sonik as there both supposed to be crap !!
If its got t1ts or tyres, its gonna be trouble.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you have an electrical problem
