There is still no confirmation that it was a shark.
As I have grown older, I've learned that pleasing everyone is impossible,
but P*****g everyone off is a piece of cake.

I bet it turns out to be a Dolphin that someone put there on porpoise.

Remember, some people are alive simply because it is illegal to shoot them.

Seen the photo in the \"Metro\" paper thismorning.......

Definitely looks like a porpoise to me.......and as for \"12 to 13ft long\".........hahahaha.

\"You don\'t get porpoises that far up the river\" ??????
Last time I was out on the JFK we were watching one in the river as we pulled alongside the North quay to pick up the rest of our party and when we set off again, it started to follow the boat for a little while before disaprearing.

I haven\'t seen the story, but there was a story a few years ago of a porpoise in the tidal stretch of the River Ouse at Cawood near Selby, probably 40 or more miles from the open sea. Further up stream than South Shields.
Plus, I seem to recall a barbel angler friend of mine complaining about a seal a long way up stream.

was confirmed by the shark trust as being a bottle nose dolphin

go to www.save-our-sharks.org and there you will see the original story and the positive ID on the news section.
